JuiceLand, Thom's Market, and La Pâtisserie debut new locations – plus more weekend brunch options.
French pastry shop La Pâtisserie is opening a second location at 7301 Burnet Rd. The shop will feature cult treats from owner Soraiya Nagree including rose and cardamom honey orange macarons and the croissant-brioche hybrid donut CroBrio. The new shop will also have more developed coffee service. Opening dates are still TBD.
In other expansion news, itty-bitty grocery Thom’s Market has opened a second location at 160 E. Riverside, featuring the same mix of local favorites (Tacodeli, My Fit Foods, Fricano’s Deli, Cosmic Kombucha, Austin Beerworks) as the original on Barton Springs Rd.
Freshly-squeezed juggernaut JuiceLand will open their 13th Austin location in the Frost Tower tomorrow. To celebrate, the will be offering half-off drinks for the entire grand opening day of Wednesday, Feb. 24.
Two of New Waterloo’s restaurants began brunch service over the past weekend. We would have told you earlier, but we really wanted to score Valentine’s weekend reservations. Sway’s menu features chefMartin Wilda’s classics with a Thai influence such as a mussel omelet with mung bean cake, bean sprouts, egg, and red nahm jihm. Central Standard executive chef Michael Paley and executive pastry chef Amanda Rockman cook up American fare like steak, egg, and chips and potato bread French toast with whipped ricotta and fruit jam.
