Pizza is experiencing a renaissance in Britain right now. Across the country, restaurants are opening almost daily offering on-trend pizza: sourdough, Neapolitan and wood-fired, with artisan, locally-sourced toppings. As a nation, we are starting to view pizza as gourmet rather than fast food.

Or are we? Pizza Hut announced this week the launch of its new artery-clogging line of Mac’N’Cheese pizzas, a carb and cheese overload that has got a surprising amount of people extremely excited.

The pies, available for a limited time, come in two varieties, each costing £21.95. Both feature a Mac’N’Cheese stuffed crust, just in case there weren’t enough calories.

The first, The Classic One, features a creamy béchamel base and is topped with Macaroni, cheese sauce, a triple cheese blend and crispy onions. The second sounds like it was put together by a child told to make dinner. The BBQ One has a BBQ base, is topped with Macaroni, cheese sauce, a triple cheese blend, BBQ drizzle and crispy onions.
