COVER IMAGE: Processed food is major concern of the customers these days, they really are trying to dig in ... in this issue the facts on how the food which is available to them so readily is made and gone through how many and what sort of processes. This was the main idea to pick up the BUILDING A STRONG theme for this month which is Processed Foods and to educate the people and give them an overview on how the food that they eat is processed and what sorts of health risks come along while they pick any single processed food. Although, Pakistan is a country where people prefer home-cooked food being a typical “desi” yet the younger generation is converting on the processed PROGRAM IN FOOD SERVICE food diet at an exponential rate as they become more and more addicted to it. Processed foods could work once in a while when you are short of time or if there is an emergency but including it in your diet on a daily basis might cause health problems in future. Even today, the effects of processed food diet is quite visible by the health of many adult individuals; most common is the obesity problem. Here being “desi” is what we would suggest in terms of diet that is to eat more organic or less processed food or even better a home cooked meal served and prepared according to your needs.
